Food Giving (Date: around Thanksgiving & Christmas and Easter)

The Jaycees host a variety of activities throughout the year which benefit local nonprofits whose clients suffer from food or housing insecurity.

The following events take place to help generate monetary or physical donations for these purposes:

Easter Pet Pictures – an event offered to the public with a suggested donation to benefit NFP partners.

Easter Egg Hunt –  offered the Saturday prior to Easter in Sportsman’s Park; includes a nonperishable food drive for donations to local food pantries.

Food Trucks – sponsored and volunteer driven direct distribution day(s) done in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Last Fling – held in Downtown Naperville over Labor Day Weekend; generates revenue for the Jaycees general donation fund and physical contributions of unopened and unused product to local food pantries.

Halloween Party – this costume party takes place at a local business and is complete with games, prizes and non-perishable donations.

Food Drives – hosted in partnership with local businesses to collect funds, food and other necessities to support local relief organizations.

Pet Pictures with Santa – an event offered to the public with a suggested financial contribution to benefit NFP partners.

Holiday Meeting – takes place following the December General Member Meeting at VFW Post 3873 on Jackson Ave; generates revenue for the Food Giving Committee and nearly 1,000 lbs of food and donations to other not-for-profit partners.
