This year’s Rebuilding Together Aurora event will be on Friday, 4-28-17 and Saturday, 4-29-17. Help out one or both days. The Naperville Jaycees will be volunteering with RTA to help rebuild/make safe a home on the west side of Aurora.
Feel the need to help and serve others right in our own area? Want to make a difference in someone’s life? Don’t have any construction skills? Or have you been in the trades for years? All skill levels are needed!
The only qualification is your desire to help someone in need. Junior volunteers 14 – 17 years of age are welcome with a parent present.
We start at 8 am and finish at 5 pm on both days.

Food will be provided at the starting location and at the house for lunch.

Rebuilding Together Aurora’s work helps to preserve homes and rebuild communities by arming volunteers with hammers, paint brushes, and dedication to service. Our volunteers are committed to making a difference in the neighborhoods they live and work in by helping our neighbors improve their living conditions and their lives. Our work extends beyond the four walls of a home to impact the health and vibrancy of our community.”
YPN is hosting another leadership breakfast. Joe Gosselin will be discussing turning conflict into growth. The breakfast will be held at The Craftsman from 7:30am to 9am on Wednesday, June 14th. Any one interested in complementary tickets, should contact Bill Donofrio at [email protected].
We need 7 volunteers to host a refreshment station for the Rotary Ride on Sunday, August 13th from 5:40 am to noon (6am to 9am and 9am to noon shifts). We will meet at Commissioner Park in southwest Naperville (on 111th St and 248th Ave.) The Naperville Jaycees will manage the first Rest Stop at Oswegoland Park District offices in Oswego. This October, the Naperville Jaycees are presenting Hack the Jack, the area’s first pumpkin carving contest. Hack the Jack, will give contestants the chance to compete for cash prizes based on the first, second and third place pumpkin winners.To participate, area residents may carve pumpkins and submit them for judging by other locals visiting Naper Settlement from Friday, Oct. 20-Oct. 22 during normal business hours, and during All Hallow’s Eve. Pumpkins selected as first, second and third win cash prizes as well as those who voted for those pumpkins if drawn during the raffle. Raffle Tickets may be purchased below.
Winners will be announced on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Naperville Plaza in front of Language Star.
If you would like to enter your pumpkin into the contest, there is a $15 entry fee. Pumpkins must be brought to the parking lot behind the Martin Mitchell Mansion at Naper Settlement on Thursday, Oct. 19, 4:30-9 p.m. Your pumpkin must be fully carved and decorated prior to submission.

How is the cash pot divided?
Like most 50/50 raffles, the Jaycees will keep 50 percent of the proceeds and the other 50 percent goes into the primary prize pot. The first place pumpkin wins half of the primary pot; second place wins 30 percent and third wins 20. Since there will be two first, second and third place winners, the pot will be divided evenly between the artist and the raffle winner.

Allocation of prize money
The Jaycees reserve all rights to reject any pumpkin that is determined unacceptable with or without the artist knowledge. The Jaycees are not responsible for the potential loss or damage to any personal items attached to the pumpkins. All Pumpkins will be donated to the event and will NOT be retuned to the artist.
Where will this event be held?
Naper Settlement from Friday, Oct. 20-Oct. 22 during normal business hours, and during All Hallow’s Eve. Pumpkins will be displayed in the southwest corner of Naper Settlement, between the Harvard Playscape and the farm house.

Can local nonprofits earn income from this event?
Yes, if your nonprofit would like to help us promote this event, you can also earn revenue. After receiving a personal promo code for your nonprofit, you can begin to earn $3 for each pumpkin submitted in your name as well as 20% of the votes sold using your promo code. Give the promo code out to staff, family, friends, board members, etc… The more your code is used, the more your nonprofit can earn.
To participate and get your code, please submit your current 501(c) certificate from the state of Illinois.

The Naperville Jaycees are being awarded the 2018 Service Club of the Year award, by the West Suburban Philanthropic Network.

Join us for an informal, fun competition where your team of 6-10 people (10 people max!) will battle other teams to see who has the greatest knowledge of all things trivial. Get a table of friends together and come join the fun. Your team will have its own table and answer the trivia questions together, so don’t be shy.
The event is BYOF (Bring Your Own Food)! Bring a fun team name and theme, as well as munchies or a full meal for your team to enjoy. The VFW will provide a cash bar. No outside alcohol is permitted.
Space is limited and advance registration is strongly advised.
The Amazing Halloween race will be on Saturday, October 5th @ 1:30 pm. This is a scavenger hunt like event where teams race to the finish line solving clues and completing mental, physical and eating challenges.
Teams will be in groups of 5. The cost is $30 per person or $150 for Team of 5 and it covers a t-shirt, race materials, and awards. Afterwards, there will be a post-race party to announce the winners.
